Our Mission:

The Washington State Society of Anesthesiologists is committed to advancing the field of anesthesiology by promoting the highest professional standards, enhancing clinical excellence through education, and advocating for the interests of anesthesiologists and patients. We strive to foster a collaborative community that prioritizes safety, innovation, and quality in the anesthetic care of all patients.

Join ASA

A few reasons why joining/renewing your membership with WSSA is more important than ever:

  1. Medicare Reimbursement Rate Protection: We understand the challenges faced by anesthesiologists regarding the cutting of rates by Medicare. WSSA/ASA are actively engaged in advocacy efforts to protect reimbursement rates, ensuring fair compensation for the critical services you provide.
  2. Continuing Medical Education (CME) Credits: Membership with WSSA grants you access to high quality educational resources and opportunities to earn CME credits including MOCA 2.0 Quality Improvement activities. Stay updated on the latest developments in anesthesia and enhance your professional skills.
  3. Networking and Professional Development: Our society provides a platform for anesthesiologists to connect, collaborate, and share experiences. Last year, we brought in the president of the AMA, the president of the Canadian Anesthesiologists' Society and a host of other distinguished speakers.
  4. Science and Research: In an era of decreased research funding and challenges of publishing high quality scientific research, WSSA is working diligently to continue to advance our specialty.
  5. Expansion of Anesthesia Care: What a year it has been for the expansion of anesthesia coverage in the state. We are all working longer hours and with higher efficiency to take care of the increasing number of patients in Washington, and your WSSA team has been successful in increasing our workforce by passing Senate Bill 5184 to allow anesthesiologist assistants to start working in Washington. This couldn’t have been possible without your support.
