About

WSSA is excited to host our annual Joint Scientific Meeting with the British Columbia Anesthesiologists' Society! This will be the first year WSSA plays host in-person since 2019, due to the pandemic. We have an incredible lineup of speakers who will share some industry trends, insights, and expertise on the status of anesthesiology from both the American and Canadian perspectives.

This discussion will focus on closed malpractice claims, consent, and documentation. We will review how to practice and work within these domains. This discussion will help prepare anesthesiologist for the problems and pitfalls of being involved or named in a malpractice suit.

"Updates on Acute Pain" 

Management of acute pain has evolved over the years to include a variety of modalities and treatments. This lecture aims to highlight the evidence and challenges of managing acute pain, from pharmacologic to interventional options. 


Wade Weigel, MD, FASA
"Summary of Emerging Evidence"

A discussion about the ASA's Summaries of Emerging Evidence (SEE), an education product summarizing the best of emerging anesthesia and critical care research. This discussion will include examples of this process of reviewing and selecting articles as well as examples from SEE.

Exhibitor Shipping Information
  • Packages may arrive at the Hyatt Regency no sooner than three business days before the event date.
  • Keep your planning manager updated on approximately how many packages you expect to have shipped in order to ensure appropriate storage space. 
  • There is no storage space for crates, pallets, or other over-sized shipments. Please contact your planning manager with any questions.
  • When shipping multiple packages, please make sure to number in the following fashion: 1 of 3, 2 of 3, 3 of 3. 

Cancellation Policy

All cancellations must be received in writing. Cancellations received one month before the date of the event will be provided a refund minus a $75 processing fee. If the cancellation is received between one month and two weeks before the event no refund will be provided, but the agreed upon exhibit table/sponsorship can be moved to another meeting within one year. Any price differences between meetings will apply. No refunds or accommodations will be made within two weeks of the event.
